Michael Oswald has over eight years of experience as a programmer and 20 years of experience in research and development of scientific and industrial instrumentation. His primary responsibility at Bio-Waves is the development of custom software code for use in the field as well as post-field processing and acoustic data analysis. Michael has worked on ROCCA, a species classifier module for PAMGuard, as well as detection and localization software for minke whale vocalizations and mid-frequency sonar. He has also aided in the construction of towed hydrophone arrays and other underwater acoustic instrumentation. Michael received his Bachelors of Applied Science, Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada.
